More About Martin Waddell & Jason Cockcroft
Martin Waddell wanted OWL BABIES to capture the "strong emotion of 'I want my mommy!' " that is so familiar to children. Martin Waddell is the author of more than one hundred books for young readers. Patrick Benson enlarged his technique of cross-hatching for the illustrations of OWL BABIES so that it would have "a more graphic image -- rather like a woodcut." Patrick Benson is also the illustrator of THE LITTLE BOAT by Kathy Henderson and LET THE LYNX COME IN by Jonathan London.

Great Book Feb 27, 2008
My 2 yr loved this for christmas. Just long enough for a short attention span. Illustrations are beautiful.
Room for a Little One Jan 7, 2008
This is a sweet book for a little one. It tells the story of Jesus's birth in a way that someone very young can understand. The picture illustrations are so beautiful, they almost tell the story themselves. A great way to introduce a child to the real meaning of Christmas and certainly a book for them to read over and over every year.
Room for a Little One Dec 31, 2007
I fell in love with the illustrations. Especially the animal's eyes. Peace and love permeate each scene. Beautiful way to tell the Christmas story.
Beautiful Book Dec 24, 2007
This book is beautifully illustrated. The simple story has enough repetition for little ones to quickly start reading aloud with you. The story of love, acceptance, and putting others first told in this book is heartwarming and delightful.
Beautiful Illustrations Dec 14, 2007
I give my two young boys one Christmas book to open every Sunday until the end of December. They keep coming back to this one at bed time. Simple but magical.
