More About Mark Rice
Mark Rice grew up in Dallas and has spent much of his career working among the buildings featured in this book. As a youngster, he developed an interest in historic downtown while accompanying his father, a court reporter with an office in the Kirby building. This background, along with a degree in history and long- time interests in photography and architecture led to the extensive research that went into the writing of this compelling story.

Downtown Dallas: More history to it than I thought Aug 26, 2007
Author Mark Rice has done a very thorough job on extracting historical data on the various buildings, past and present, in downtown Dallas. He adds some poignant and some bizarre tales that happened in/around the buildings. For anyone who either is a fan of Dallas, architecture, or Texas history will enjoy this book.
