Reviews - What do customers think about Handbook of Anesthesiology 2008?
Excellent Content with Terrible Binding Sep 7, 2008
Received the book yesterday, fliped it through 2 hours ago, 10 pages fell right off, just got back from Kinko's for binding. Enough said...
Great help for clinicals!!!! Sep 5, 2008
This is a little gem for quick clinical review! Very helpful when you need your mind refreshed on a topic. Highly recommend for anesthesia providers!!
Great Resorce --Poor Binding Aug 21, 2008
I have owned every edition of the book since 1996, and have always found it to be very usefull in the clinical area. I ordered the 2008 edition in July. When it arrivved I flipped through it and pages started coming loose from the binding. Thinking it was just a fluke, I ordered a second copy. When it arrived the binding seemed to be better, but when I started adding a few of my own notes to the margins, the binding again fell apart. I contacted both the publisher and this site.com to let them know what happened and to see if I could get a copy of the handbook with a reliable binding...to date I have nothing back from this site or the publisher. The poor quality of the binding has turned an outstanding reference into useless trash. Every other edition of this handbook that I own has been well used and dog eared, but I have never lost a single page from these editions. If I were the author, I would start looking for a new publisher.
Not to beat a dead horse, but ... Aug 3, 2008
I have to echo everyone's sentiments here. The content is concise and would be an excellent quick-reference guide. One of the oral/maxillofacial surgery residents rotating through anesthesia absolutely swore by it, and I can see how it could serve as a critical quick-and-dirty reference. However, the fact that the book self-destructs with minimal (gentle) use makes it essentially USELESS. Content: B+ Quality: F
Disappointed in the quality Jun 25, 2008
I received this book less than two weeks ago and the binding is already falling apart. The book is an outstanding reference but it's hard to reference anything when pages are falling out onto the floor everytime I use it. I'm disappointed in the quality.
