Reviews - What do customers think about The Void (Truth Chasers)?
The VOID: For people with great imagination. Jan 28, 2008
I found The Void hardly believable, but near-okay in the genre of weird fantastica fiction. If you want to read about a modern-day Frankenstein from a sort-of Christian perspective, then this book is for you. I supposed it is the Christian answer to this sort of fiction, but it certainly is not well done. There is a reader's guide included.
Robbie Rocks Nov 28, 2007
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although I would not normally enjoy the sci-fi perspective, Mynheir pulls it off well. I especially enjoy how he expresses the faith of the characters in a natural way. As a female in law enforcement I can tell you Robbie is an authentic female detective.

Interesting story, but lacked depth Nov 13, 2007
I heard a lot of raves about this book which got me interested in it. The storyline was interesting, but I felt it lacked some depth. The character development lacked in some parts, and areas of it were a bit fantastical. I don't mind books that depict spiritual warfare, but for some reason this one seemed a bit over the top.
It's a good read, but I don't see it as a very realistic thriller. Something like the Left Behind series depicts a much more real, gritty, and believable type of spiritual warfare story.
Something Overlooked Oct 7, 2007
THE VOID, by Mark Mynheir is just absolutely amazing. I'm trying to wrangle him in with the Christian Fiction Review Blog. This guy looks at scientific advances, takes it a few steps further, then shows a gross oversight that is already being made. With the cloning of the sheep in Scotland some years back all kinds of ethical and moral issues have arisen, and behind them laws to keep scientists in check. Do we really believe that a few laws by the U.S. and some international committee is going to stop someone from cloning the first human? Seems to me that a claim of that sort has already been made. What are the ramifications if we let it continue? THE VOID cuts through all the legal garbage and lets you see what happens when certain boundaries are crossed. This is a fantastic, suspenseful novel with twists and turns that leave you hoping there will be a "happy ending", or at least one that isn't catastrophic. The only problem I can see is how long will THE VOID be able to stay on the fiction market? I mean, we're there already, chomping at the bit that will take us to the netherworld.
David Brollier author of THE 3RD COVENANT
powerful police procedural science fiction thriller Aug 25, 2007
Palm Bay, Florida police officer Brad Worthington is murdered while following up a tip from an informer. The town's police chief Patrick Gailey fears his officers will seek vengeance just like he wants to do so especially after seeing the rookie's widow's and small children. Instead being the consummate professional he calls in a favor with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate the killing of a cop.
Agent Robbie Sanchez is assigned the inquiry, which leads her to nearby Lifetex biochemistry research lab. When the firm's CEO and chief scientist vanish, Robbie follows their trail. Soon she learns of Project Adam, a genetic experiment to enhance the DNA by cloning humans into potentially evil supermen.
The third Thrill Chasers tale is an action packed tale that grips audience from the moment the Lifetex financial backers make it clear they want instant bottom line results and never slows down until the final twist. Whereas the first two dramas (see FROM THE BELLY OF THE DRAGON and ROLLING THUNDER) were inspirational pure police procedural tales; THE VOID contains powerful science fiction elements tied to the investigation. The key to the best Thrill Chaser to date is the testing of the beliefs of characters like Robbie who soon realizes that man's creation seems "greater" than God's creation.
