Item description for Perceptions of the Poor: Poverty Consultations in Four Districts in Sri Lanka by Marian S. Pal...
A series of poverty consultations were carried out in four districts of Sri Lanka in mid-2000. This study presents the results of these consultations, which were intended to help the Asian Development Bank (ADB) gain a deeper and more meaningful appreciation of the scope and breadth of poverty in Sri Lanka based on the perceptions of the poor. In turn, the process helped the ADB better understand Sri Lanka's development needs and priorities as perceived by the poor and to identify the most appropriate sectors to which ADB support can be channeled towards sustainable poverty reduction.
