More About Maria Kowalska
Saint Maria Faustina was born Helena Kowalska in a small village west of Lodz, Poland on August 25, 1905. When she was almost twenty, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, whose members devote themselves to the care and education of troubled young women. In the 1930's, Sister Faustina received from the Lord a message of mercy that she was told to spread throughout the world. She was asked to become the apostle and secretary of God's mercy, a model of how to be merciful to others, and an instrument for reemphasizing God's plan of mercy for the world.
She wrote and suffered in secret, with only her spiritual director and some of her superiors aware that anything special was taking place in her life. The message of mercy that Sister Faustina received is now being spread throughout the world; her diary, Divine Mercy in my Soul, has become the handbook for devotion to the Divine Mercy.
Maria Faustina Kowalska was born in 1905 and died in 1938.

Definitive Divine Mercy Source May 9, 2008
This is the alpha and the omega regarding The Divine Mercy message, its origins and content. Sister (now Saint) Faustina received this message via visitations from Our Lord. You can read it slowly since it is divided into many small sections. A great bed table book. And you need not read it cover to cover to receive immense inspiration. Even random passages are meaningful. If you simply want to learn about The Divine Mercy OR if you already know about it and want to immerse yourself in it... then this is the book for you.
A Beautiful and Powerful Work! Mar 28, 2004
Divine Mercy In My Soul is a MUST read. This is the intimate diary of Saint Faustina, a nun who lived in Poland during the early 1900's. She received apparitions of Jesus and He commanded her to have an image of Him painted- depiciting His Divine Mercy. (With the red and white rays pouring from His pierced Sacred Heart.) There are many, many messages that Jesus gave to St. Faustina about His burning love for the world and about His unfathomable Divine Mercy- that It excludes no one who wants to receive His Mercy. This diary is beautifully written-- it is humble and realistic. Although St. Faustina was known to nearly no one, she was charged with the great work of telling all souls about the infinite Divine Mercy of God. This is a poetic work of the heart and a profession of St. Faustina's great love for God and humanity. This is a beautiful revelation from God. I can not recommend this book highly enough!
