Reviews - What do customers think about The 100+ Series Mixed Skills in Math, Grades 7-8: Keeping Students Sharp With Daily Practice and Review?
Bad Selection Aug 21, 2008
I do not recommend this book because it does not give the children examples to work with. Therefore, they are unable to work independently without constantly seeking help.
An Excellent Source of Math Problems Aug 6, 2007
The nice thing about this review book is that the skills really are mixed. I have used all of the books in this series when tutoring students in math. The constant repetition of basic skills helps to reinforce them in the minds of the students, even as they progress to more advanced ideas. One caution. This book does not explain how to do the problems. There are no examples. It is simply a book of mixed-skill problems. It presumes that a teacher, parent or tutor will provide explanations when needed. What the book claims to do, it does very well. Also the problems are presented in a format that is pleasing to kids.
Workbook Keeps Students' Math Skills Sharp! Dec 9, 2000
"Mixed Skills" keeps students' math skills sharp by continually reviewing key third and fourth grade objectives and using a spiral approach to education. This workbook is ideal for educators who want a varied daily mathematics practice without the hassle of having to create one themselves. I have used this workbook in my own classroom and have found it to be both convenient and effective. I highly recommend it!
