Item description for In Another Country by Margaret Roosevelt...

Margaret Roosevelt allows us to visit times past and experience attitudes and ways of living that are no longer a part of the common experience.

Her vividly drawn, engaging recollections share the most intimate of feelings and provide a precious glimpse of a time, for many, assigned to the history books, but which should never be forgotten.

In Another Country tells the dramatic story of one woman's experience of war and love and her precarious situation in the war-torn Italy of the 1930s. Wanted by the S.S. and forced into hiding with a young child during the war, Margaret was to work for the Allied Intelligence group after the liberation, and embark on a passionate, tangled affair that would awaken previously unknown feelings of love, belonging, loss, and desolation.

Reviews - What do customers think about In Another Country?

A Facinating Life  May 20, 2001
I read this book in one afternoon - I couldn't put it down. It is a facinating story written by an American woman in Italy during WWII. It's about her life, her loves, her agonies, and her wonderful memories.
