Overview Our life is a ship. The helm steers the ship. Wise counsels in Proverbs 1:5 comes from a word that speaks of the rope that guides the ship. Our Captain, the Lord Jesus Christ, will enable us to guide our ship right as we stay in His Logbook, the Bible. In Our Lifeship several examples of Biblical characters and modern-day women are used. This book contains quotations from Proverbs and other Bible books. In the section, Challenges Today s Women Face, the author interviewed several women over the phone to obtain ideas. This section brings it down to where we live. She closes each chapter with a challenge, Give the Helm to Jesus.

More About Lynn Wallace
Many of Lynn's articles, 2 Sunday School curriculum packages, and 2 books found publication. Ambassador International released her first book, Our Lifeship: A Study in Proverbs for Women on May 1, 2008. Tate Publishing released her children's book, Do Kangaroos Carry Platypuses, in June 2015. Lynn sees robins outside her windows hunting food. Mourning doves in flight, spread out the scalloped wing tips. One time she saw a raven on its watch post. Another fed on the road. AS she stood beside her bedroom window she learned deer chew their cud as cows do. One time from her bedroom window she observed a raccoon standing up. A cat ran past it, but neither animal paid attention to the other. Lynn and her husband served as missionaries to the Navajo Indians before the Lord called Lynn to write. She loves observing God's creation and writing.

Reviews - What do customers think about Our Lifeship: A Study in Proverbs for Women?
Sailing stormy waters Oct 8, 2008
This book would be an excellent gift for a new Christian. The author teaches us how to apply the Scriptures to our life situations, whether they be calm or stormy. The book of Proverbs is full of practical instructions and warnings, but they only benefit us when we take them personally and make them a part of our life. Every Christian "sails" in stormy waters at one time or another, and we need the wisdom of God to safely complete our voyage. This book will encourage the reader to access that wisdom.

Title: OUR LIFESHIP: A Study in Proverbs for Women
Author: Lynn Wallace
"As a woman thinks in her heart, so is she." Proverbs 23:7, King James Version.
The introduction, clearly sums up the essence of the author's intentions, and explains how the theme of relating our lives to that of a ship, cleverly works. Our captain is God, with his Logbook being the Bible. We are the sailors trying to navigate through the rough and calm effects of life. Our hearts are the ship's motor or our lifeline. Many life challenges can upset our vessel but faith, humility and peace will keep us afloat. Beware of the pirates, whose captain is Satan, with a strong desire to lead us astray, capsizing our ship. Listen, learn and open your heart to believe and our captain will give us the wisdom to remain on the right path. God has given us the means, but he expects us to use our heads. Work is to be rewarded, slack off and become poor. The choice is yours. In each of the 14 chapters, a short story is relayed, based on a theme of a Proverb. We learn about the Biblical times woman, who shipwrecked and why, followed by the same theme but of a woman who navigated well, to stay on course. Each chapter ends with it being related to what women face today. The chapters cover the heart, building the ship, the hands, companions and a large portion on the tongue. The author, Lynn Wallace and her late husband served as missionaries to the Navajo Indians. She lives on her parents farm in Montrose, Colorado enjoying the wildlife and calves, as she writes her articles and curriculum packages. You do not have to be a deeply religious person to enjoy this book. It is simply, yet knowledgeably written; lighthearted, yet powerful as the analogy fits. For example; When speaking about the tongue she writes, "This little member can get us in a bunch of trouble." We all know how true that is! I do not hesitate to Highly Recommend reading this book.
