Item description for Light in the Night for Living in the Day by Lud Golz...
Overview Have you missed some of what God wanted to share with or do for you? Did you know God often gives insight and does amazing things during the night? In this book Lud Golz illustrates how God gives insight initiatives, what Lud calls, light in the night for living in the day. He writes, "Maybe we hear better in the quietness of the night or see the light better in contrast to the darkness around us. Maybe we turn to God more readily in the loneliness of the night. Maybe it's easier to surrender and take hold of God's hand to guide us when engulfed by the night's darkness. He explains how you can prepare yourself to receive such light in the night and then respond by living it out in the day.

Explaining nighttime inspiration and solutions Jul 11, 2008
There have been much speculation on how we humans get our "Ah ha" moments, and what really happens to our brains as we sleep. While scientific theories abound, Golz provides us with a religious explanation as to what happens. Golz does not say if God talks to us more intensely during the night time hours, but he does suggest that we are more open to divine inspiration during the "stillness of the night" rather than the active daylight hours.
Golz draws on personal, historical, contemporary, and biblical examples to show where individuals have received inspiration during the night. After each example the refrain is the same: God provides light in the night for living during the day. The main thesis is that solutions for trying life issues have miraculously come during the nighttime hours, and that these solutions have been more complete that that individual could have arrived at through his/her own abilities. Therefore these solutions must have been divinely inspired.
Each chapter focuses on a life stage. Chapter titles describe these situations best. Some of them are "Where do I go from here," "Why is this Happening to me?," "Do I have to go through this?" and others. Each chapter starts with a biblical quote and ends with a set of question for the reader as well as a suggested prayer.
While Golz derives his message from his religious roots, the experience and its application is universal. Scientific hypothesis also postulate that that brain draws on the subconscious while at rest and has the ability to come up with more holistic solutions to pressing problems, hence one could say that anyone who subscribes to the above scientific hypothesis or Golz's premise of divine inspiration would agree with the main message of this book. The point of contention would be the source of an individual's inspiration. Here I think we do not fall neatly into distinct groups but dot a continuum among competing explanations.
For those of us who strongly adhere to the Abrahamic tradition, it is another reaffirmation of "Every where one turns, one sees the face of God."
