Item description for Teach Them Diligently: How To Use The Scriptures In Child Training by Louis Paul Priolo...
Overview The bookshelves in your home no doubt contain volumes of books, manuals, seminar notes, magazine articles, and video and audio cassettes purporting to address parenting from a Christian point of view. With rare exception, however, most of today's Christian parenting resources fail to emphasize what is perhaps the most important aspect of true biblical parenting-how to relate the Bible to the disciplinary process in practical ways. Think about it. With all of your training, do you really know how to use the Bible for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness with your children? If you do, read no further. If you don't this little book will augment and strengthen your parenting skills as you learn how to use the Scriptures more thoroughly and effectively in your child training.

The book confuses discipline with spanking Jul 22, 2008
This is another book which preaches to parents to spank their children because the bible commands them to do so. It is written in the bible that a woman who is not faithful should be stoned to death. Does it make this kind of practice right? The author emphasises that the spanking should be strong enough to cause pain, other wise it isn't effective. If spanking was effective why would parents have to do it again and again? The book confuses discipline which means to teach, with spanking. If the bible is a moral guide for a parent then he shouldn't use hitting since hitting is an unjust practice and it provides an immoral model for the child.
Absolutely Awesome Jul 6, 2008
This is one of my favorite parenting books ever! It has made me love my kids even more, and love parenting them. It takes parenting from being about me to being about them and their relationship with God. A life changing book!
Great Book Jun 28, 2008

Teach Them Diligently: How To Use The Scriptures In Child Training May 8, 2008
I thought this book completely hit the mark on what, we as Christian parents need to be doing in raising godly Christian children. This book is hard for many "luke warm Christians" to "hear" because it is not the "easy route" by any means. This kind of parenting takes a deeper more convicting FAITH then many Christians are willing to follow. This kind of parenting takes dedicated, involved, hard work. It won't work for folks who only see their children for a few hours before and after work. If God has called YOU to parent your children biblically and not hand it over to other intitutions this is the book for you.
Valuable parenting book Apr 27, 2008
Thank you Mr. Priolo for writing this book! I see some are slamming your work (who probably haven't even read it), but I found your work to be a valuable tool every Christian parent should read.
