Reviews - What do customers think about Leave a Candle Burning (Tucker Mills Trilogy, Book 3)Audio Book?
Yuck...... Mar 4, 2008
This book made me give up buying Lori Wick books. The whole series was poorly done, but this was the worst of all. Boring, predictable garbage. I don't read romance for realistic stories, but this was just beyond unrealistic. It was just terrible.
what's up? Jan 13, 2008
What's up with Lori Wick? This series was one of the worst series I have ever read in my life. With the stilted dialogue, the multiple sermons, and the almost nonexistant plot, the only reason I forced myself to read this entire series was out of loyalty to Lori Wick. I am so disappointed that one of my favorite authors seems to be writing such amateur novels lately. These characters are almost sickeningly sweet and absolutely unrealistic.I swear they never sin! And, would it hurt to have some kind of climax or plot? Also, all the different characters that seem to have more pages than the main characters! Unecessary! Scottie is utterly uninteresting and although Dannon's devotion is semi-heartwarming it's more bland than anything else. If you enjoy books with laughable dialogue, extremely boring characters (some of which you care nothing about ex: the people in town) and no plot, than this book is for you!! For the rest of us........ we'll just have to keep reading her old series and hope and pray that she'll up her standard to AT LEAST where it used to be. Otherwise, I don't know how long my loyalty will last.
Too preachy. Jan 2, 2008
I was really irritated by this book. There is way too much preaching going on. Her almost perfect characters do little more than worry and refuse to say thank you. Some of them are only "tempted" to worry. What verse in the Bible says that worry is a sin anyway? Yet, on the flip side, the serious sin of coveting another man's wife is no big deal because the husband is dying anyway and he wants to pair them up. We're supposed to be encouraged because high and mighty Dannon is fighting it. Did the author attend seminary or did she just pick up these little tidbits along the way? I switched to Christian fiction because I didn't want to read about sex and violence and cussing, but I'm disappointed with books like this that don't portray real people. I have this idea that there are books and then there are novels. Books have the basic elements in place, but fall short of brilliance. You read them and then forget them. Novels tell stories that make you think. You remember these stories for a long time, maybe forever. In my opinion, this is just a book that I will soon forget.
Good Book Jul 22, 2007
This was a good book. But I isn't as good as most of her other books I've read.
Leave a Candle Burning Jun 26, 2007
I know this the last book of the Tucker Mills Trilogy. I have read the whole series, and enjoyed it a great deal. I would recommend this trilogy to all.
