I don't Know why it has gotten such bad reveiws! Sep 14, 2006
This book, to me was a very good book. Now, some people have been saying that it wasn't much of a mystery, and no, not as you would think it would be, but it was a mystery about what was behind the tunnel door, and I am very interested in what she found in what she found(yes, I did mean to put that 2 times, it wasn't a typo) in the secret door in the tunnel. I think that it was a very good book and I loved it!!

the book was great i just think they should let Joe and Mandie have some time alone i mean they are such a cute couple but Lois never lets them talk alone anymore!its like she doesnt actualy want them to get married but she keeps making them talk about it and stuff with Johnathon and Ceilya! They need to be alone! My fav part of the book tho is when Johnathon says he is going to mary Mandie and Joe olmost dies. But youll probobly think i am a dork but when mandie started to scream when she found the grave i actualy screamed i mean...i didnt expect to get that cought up in the book...

I agrea with most of the below readers. What is Lois Glady leppard doing! I love most of the Mandie books. Yet ever since Mandie and the Dark Alley ( which was the worst Mandie book in the world! ) the books have gone down hill. It seems that in Lois's aim to make Mandie act older she is making her lose her personality! Mandie doesn't do anything interresting anymore. If any of you have read the Graduation mystery you know that the only mystery was that her dress went missing and like I couldn't guess who took it! Personally I'm so sick of reading about April Snow! I never liked the books with her in them in the first place and now she is going to the same collage as Mandie. I could scream! Oh yay, back to the Hidden Past. This book wasn't tooo bad. It was a little bit slow but over all I LIKED IT. I really liked the part when Jonathan and Joe are fighting over who she is going to marry. I really reccomend this book to you. It not quite as good as some of the Mandie books but not as bad either. I hope you find it interresting. THe ending is a total suprise!
I love Mandie Books! Jul 2, 2004
The Mandie books are the best books I've ever read! Mandie and the Hidden Past is one of my favortie ones! I like the way in this book that Mandie is curios about what is in the crack. She is determined to find out and eventually succeeds. I also like it that there is Bible verses in this book. Mandie, Celia, Joe, Jonathan, and others in this book are a great inspiration to me to think before I act, just like Mandie is learning to do. I strongly recamend this book to anyone who likes to read about adveture, History, and anything else! God has truly gifted Lois Gladys Leppard with the gift of writing!
Mandie book is not all that Dandy Mar 19, 2004
Oh Lois, Lois, Lois. What have you done? This book was downright awful... The Mandie books are supposed to be about Mandie's life and adventures. The only thing I can say about this book is that there is no true mystery, no imagination, and no creativity. Most Mandie books have captured my senses and made me want to turn page after page, in pursuit of the solution to the mystery. This book just does not do that. There is nothing interesting to read about. Another thing to note: Mandie is growing up, but her attitude doesn't show it. She still acts like a 10 year old that always pouts and is obscene. Lois Gladys Leppard needs to show that Mandie has grown up, because it sure doesn't seem like it. My only hope is that the upcoming books will be more satisfactory. I suggest that you only read this book for the sake of keeping up with the series- not for suspense, mystery, or ingenuity.
