More About Gooseberry Patch
Back in 1984, we were two moms living next door to each other in the little town of Delaware, Ohio. Since our kids were still little, we were looking for a way to do what we loved and stay home with them too. We had always shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family & friends and so, after many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
We put together our first catalog at our kitchen tables and from that very first mailing, we found an immediate connection with our customers. It wasn’t long before we began receiving letters, photos and recipes from these new friends. In 1992, we published our very first cookbook, compiled from hundreds of these recipes and, the rest, as they say, is history. As the children grew, so did their "little" business. They now have their own building in the country, filled to the brim with kitchenware, gourmet goodies, enamelware, bowls and their own very successful line of cookbooks, and calendars.
Gooseberry Patch currently resides in Delaware, in the state of Ohio.
Reviews - What do customers think about One-Pot Meals Cookbook: Flavored Without the Fuss...Home-Cooked Dinners your Family (Goose Berry Patch)?
I love Gooseberry Patch Jan 1, 2008
First, let me say that I am a HUGE Gooseberry Patch fan. Currently I own six of their books: Slow Cooker Recipes, Best-Ever Casseroles, What's for Dinner?, Come on Over, One-Pot Meals and From Grandma's Kitchen. I just LOVE the books. The recipes are very easy, not too fancy, don't take long and always taste good. They are easy to read and the spiral binding keeps the books open flat. I think out of all of the books, I have only made one thing that I didn't care for. They are just great, great books to have around and I love the little tips on each page, the way that every book is broken up by meats and categories and just all of the other little helpful charts and equivalents that are in each book. In my opinion, they are just great additions to any cookbook collection and I love having them in my kitchen.
I have only made one thing out of this book so far (Yummy Peach Dessert) but it came out really well. I am looking forward to making other things as well. However, what I really like about this book is how they have it divided into cooking styles rather than meat...they have a section for pot/skillet/pressure cooking meals, oven meals, slow-cooker meals, microwave meals, grilled, dinner salads and a final dessert section. It's a really neat book and I am looking forward to working my way through it.
I would recommend it. I just can't give it five stars based on one recipe!
