Reviews - What do customers think about Hope for a Healthy Workplace: Introducing Philanthropian Leadership?
Leadership Apr 11, 2007
Great storyline however the author spends too much time on emotions vs. dealing with the facts. People are looking for answers on proper leadership; how a person derives to that point is not worth the time spent in this fast paced world we call America. After pointing the above out this one is different and if you pass it by you will be doing yourself a grave injustice for the message could be career saving and maybe even life saving to one of your employees.
Well worth the read!
Organizational Behaviour gets a New and Humane Leadership Model Apr 14, 2006
Finally a little reality is painted on the picture of what is happening all over the the working world... and better yet a solution is provided with Dr. Lisa Barrow's breakthrough in Organizational Behaviour: The Philantropian Leadership model.
A very fast reading book, as Dr. Barrow takes us on her own journey of discovery through the workplace. We find experiences so easy to relate to, anecdotes that tear at heart strings and courage that gives us Hope.
No Holds bared, Dr. Barrow tells it like it is, workplaces can be filled with abuse of power, and bullying. Some examples we learn about: "Abusive leaders may: Scream at their employees; Belittle their employees; Isolate employees; Use abusive language; Damage property; Withhold career advancement opportunities; Throw temper tantrums when they feel a loss of control."
Not only does experience help to build this model, but careful research and thoughtful study have gone into it as well. Just when you think America is sinking, there is Hope, and Dr. Barrow outlines her new model of Hope for a Healthy Workplace.
Finally a more realistic approach to a surprisingly common problem in the workplace today.
I highly recommend this excellent, authorotative, and easy to read book.
