He is a registered Counselling Psychologist and graduate of the University of the Western Cape, Boston University and the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (San Francisco). He has played a leading role in psychology as President of the Psychological Society of South Africa, Editor of the South African Journal of Psychology and Executive Member of the Professional Board for Psychology. He is a member of the International Union of Psychological Science Assembly and Vice Chair of the InPsyS South Africa Committee.
