Item description for Pattern Formation in Zebrafish (Results and Problems in Cell Differentiation) by Lilianna Solnica-Krezel...
Vertebrate embryos develop from a single cell via a complex succession of cell divisions, movements and inductive interactions. The zebrafish, Danio rerio, emerged in recent years as an excellent system in which to study genetic underpinnings of normal human development and its pathologies. Large-scale genetic screens identified thousands of mutant variants that allow in vivo dissection of developmental processes at single cell and molecular resolution. This book provides the first comprehensive overview of zebrafish embryogenesis: formation and patterning of germ layers, gastrulation movements, and aspects of organogenesis, including formation of somites, cardiovascular system, pronephros and eyes.

Reviews - What do customers think about Pattern Formation in Zebrafish (Results and Problems in Cell Differentiation)?
Folks: awesome. Jun 4, 2003
I bought this book because I'd heard great things about Lilianna Solnica-Krezel & Helmut Koch (Editors)-- about their deep and fluid knowledge about all acquatic and pescunary matters, and I'll tell you this right now: their reputation is *earned,* folks. Wow! You want to learn from the best, about Zebrafish, you cannot hope to apprentice yourself to wiser or more shrewd sciensticians.
Lilianna Solnica-Krezel & Helmut Koch are like Zen masters of Zebrafish. They are Zebrafish superheroes. They are like the Presidents of the United States of America of Zebrafish.
Folks. I am not kidding about this. This anthology is like reading a holy text, on Zebrafish.
