Item description for Narnia Chronology (Chronicles Of Narnia) by C. S. Lewis...
Overview This classic series has been adapted into a hugely popular and lavish multimedia format and presented in a timeline. The stories, heroes, enemies, creatures, places and magic are all presented in a contemporary design with interactive features and memorabilia.
Community Description This set includes all seven volumes of the classic, allegorical, and greatly beloved children's fantasy series, the Chronicles of Narnia: THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW; THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE; THE HORSE AND HIS BOY; PRINCE CASPIAN; THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER; THE SILVER CHAIR; and THE LAST BATTLE.
Children of England (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie; Eustace Scrubb; Jill Pole; Digory Kirke; and Polly Plummer) find their way into Narnia, a magical land with talking animals, stupid giants, friendly fauns, and evil witches, watched over by the wise and noble lion Aslan, son of the Emperor-over-sea. Once there, the children take part in the battle between good and evil, experiencing many adventures and making profound moral choices that alter both the country and themselves forever.
There is some dispute about the correct reading order of the books. The first published book was THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, in which young Lucy Pevensie walks through a wardrobe to discover a snow-bound Narnia. THE HORSE AND HIS BOY, about a poor boy with a mysterious heritage, two enslaved talking horses, and a young noblewoman escaping an arranged marriage who prevent an invasion, actually overlaps in time with THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE but was published fifth. Meanwhile, the book published sixth, THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, is the earliest in the series timeline; it features Digory Kirke, the elderly owner of the magic wardrobe, as a young boy and concerns the creation of Narnia. Regardless of the order in which the novels are read, the series is considered a landmark in the genre.

Reviews - What do customers think about Narnia Chronology?
This book is NOT a pop-up book May 22, 2010
Please note that I gave this book 5 stars in the interest of fairness to the book. It is a very beautiful book, although I'm not familiar with the story of Narnia.
I am a pop-up book collector, and I am writing this review stictly from the viewpoint of a pop-up book collector. Nowhere on this book does it state that it is a pop-up book, and in fact, this book doesn't have any pop-ups. It does have around 9 pull tabs and a bunch of lift flaps, but no pop-ups.
I have often seen this book described as a pop-up book by sellers, and that's why I bought this book. I was disappointed that there were no pop-ups, but that's the fault of the sellers, not the book.
Fascinating book! Oct 16, 2009
This is a great book which is very interactive, with fun and surprising features. It covers all the 6 Narnia books in condensed versions - about 2 pages per story. Presented in a creative and fun way. With little pull-out tabs, pop up features, flip-out messages. My 6 yr old was really engrossed and interested in finding the various hidden "treasures". For all Narnia fans - this is a must-buy!

This book is a beautifully illustrated history of Narnia. Would recommend for older kids or adults.
A pop-up book for adults... Aug 2, 2008
Pros: Absolutely beautiful illustrations, a detailed chronology, devotes several pages to each book.
Cons: Not the best choice for children, not the best choice for people not familiar with the books.
This pop-up book is full gorgeous illustrations, many of them full color versions of the ones that appear in the actual books, many of them original. There are lots of pop-ups and hidden little flaps.
This book is not exactly shallow either -- it offers a full, detailed chronology of Narnia that any fans of the series will love. It devotes multiple pages to each book, so that it is really quite long.
Unfortunately, I can not say that this book would be good for children. I suspect that it would be torn up in a minute and they would probably not be interested in all the little tidbits of info in the margins.
There is no reason to buy this if you are not a Narnia fan, but if you are, it could make the perfect coffee table book.
Charming Coffee Table Book Jul 19, 2008
This charming coffee table book has many positives and only a couple of negatives.
The artwork is excellent. / The size, binding, and overall quality of the book is refreshing. / The story, of course, is a classic. / This book could be used by a grandparent or parent to offer hours of bedtime story tellng. / All in all the book is captivating and entertaining.
It tries to combine the chronicles into one interactive book. By its nature, it must be simplistic. Therefore, one needs to already know the story to enjoy the book. / The book appears to be too fragile to be left alone with young children.
