Reviews - What do customers think about Sing, Spell, Read and Write : Grand Tour Level 2 (Home Kit)?
Solid Program for Locking in Language Arts Skills Mar 16, 2007
After completing Level 1, my kids reviewed and locked in their skills with Level 2. There is new material, but much is expansion of previously learned materal, including brief essays. My children also learned beginning cursive, which we have continued with another curriculum. I was very pleased with Level 2 and would highly recommend it, particularly for those who have been using the SSRW system.
just workbooks- not music or extras Mar 8, 2007
I was disappointed by this "kit." All it is is a few workbooks in a box. I expected it to be more of the music, games, manipulatives, etc... in addition to the workbooks. If you are only wanting workbooks (overly pricey ones!) then these should be fine. If you want a next level to the Sing Spell Read and Write, this will surely disappoint you.
Excellent Update to Original Feb 25, 2006
I used the first edition level 2 SSRW with 3 children in the past. I was pleased with their progress and the way the program was laid out. I was hesitant to use the "new" edition but I'm glad that we did. Covering the same basics as the original, the new SSRW has a lot more interaction built into each lesson. It is exciting for my daughter with the crosswords, puzzles, reading, spelling workout worksheets and story leads for creating her own stories. It builds in comprehension and vocabulary as it goes. It reviews all of the 1st grade skills while working in compound words, verb/noun usage, capitalization, punctuation, subject, predicate, etc. We are still in Book 1 of the set. I would highly recommend it.
