VERY ENJOYABLE Mar 21, 2007
I originally found out about this book when a church member came to the hospital to see me. She read Psalm 23 to my husband and I and we really enjoyed it. This book is written in what I call "today's language". Easy to understand. I highly recommend it.
PSALMS NOW Jan 10, 2007
Great book for reading Psalms in our times. It uses words and phrases which make some of them very pertinent to today. If read in conjunction with reading the same verses in the Bible, it opens up new thoughts. Especially the 23rd Psalm.
encourages worship in today's language Jun 27, 2004
I've been using Psalms Now along with my daily Bible reading, and the prayers and praises to God written 2000 years ago become even more meaningful with Leslie Brandt's paraphrases. He has encouraged me to personalize the individual Psalms in my own journaling, and that's brought my worship time; my focus on praising God; and my accountability to live a life of obedience to God to a whole new level. Thank you Mr. Brandt!
Pure drivel Sep 25, 2001
A political agenda posing as religion. Brandt must be part of the blame america first crowd. If you find the US so horrible move, but for heavens sake quit the sobbing and whining.
Psalms Now a moving and useful worship resource Sep 14, 1998
After using Psalms Now in Bible study for litergical prayer I decided to try it in a Contemporary Christian Worship setting. The response was phenominal. Wether it is used as a basis for prayer or in a traditional litergical style it is a very helpful book to bring the psalmists words to life!
