Item description for Between Two Worlds: A Novel by Leanne Hardy...
Overview Feeling like you're different is never fun. But being different can be down right dangerous. And Cristina Larson is very different. Even though she looks like everyone else in Rum River, Minnesota, Cristina feels like she belongs back in Brazil, where her family lived as missionaries. She doesn't know the latest styles, the current slang, or how to "fit in"...and most of the kids at Rum River High School aren't going to let her forget it. Enter Jason Erickson. Despite the fact that he plays football, is gorgeous, and has a few friends, his Korean heritage keeps him just outside of the inner circle. Caught between two worlds, Cristina and Jason struggle to understand God's plan...and to survive the attacks of the "in" crowd.
Publishers Description In a town where being different can be dangerous, Cristina Larson and her Korean friend struggle to accept God's plan for them . . . and survive the attacks of the insiders.

Reviews - What do customers think about Between Two Worlds: A Novel?
Between Two Worlds Mar 16, 2007
Between Two Worlds by LeAnne Hardy is about a girl named Cristina, a missionary kid (mk). Her family serves God in Brazil. She's trying to fit in. She loves Brazil, and can't let go. She thinks her family doesn't care about her.
I enjoyed this book because I can relate to her. My parents are missionaries to Eurasia. I can understand the hard times she went through. I enjoyed her character. She liked to have fun and to hang out with friends.
I believe that LeAnne Hardy is sending a message of faith. Faith in people, faith in God, and in yourself. We all go through hard times. The author probably wrote this because of hard times. She is a missionary. Her kids probably go through the same things. It does feel weird to be different. Growing up in one place, then moving to a different country is hard.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a shoulder to lean on. Anyone who is desperate for God. Anyone who fels like crying for hours. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little faith. Again faith in themselves, people and God. This book was touching. It was so good I couldn't put it down. I do believe it was good from beginning to end.
A book that shares the heart of Missonary Kids.... Jun 4, 2003
When I read this book I felt like re-lived some of my own transitions to the U.S. as a fellow Missionary Kid from Brazil. It spoke truth about both the joys and the frustrations that comes from being bi-cultural. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is an MK or cares about MKs and their lives. Enjoy!
