Reviews - What do customers think about Moving Up: An Aliyah Journal?
MOVING UP BY LAURA BEN-DAVID Oct 18, 2007
"Moving Up" by Laura Ben-David is a delightful account of a Jewish family's call to Israel from the American diaspora. Call it a second exodus. The writing quality is pleasant, easy reading. As an American Jew myself having been here in Israel for over thirty years, I can attest to the accuracy of the everyday events describing their cultural transition to the Middle East. This is a happy, optimistic and loving work. Living life to the fullest as Ms. Ben-David sees it. All those called to connect with Israel, Jew or gentile, will benefit. In my own book about Israel,"They Have No Clue", I am more demanding and less sympathetic to the current Jewish state yet even more optimistic about the future of Israel, but from a totally different vantage point.

A Good Read May 14, 2007
This is a good book for anyone who is beginning to think about making aliyah. The author share's her first-hand account of the trials and tribulations as well as the joys of moving with her family to Israel. She mentions what they chose to give up in the way of material possessions to live the dream of Jews all over the world. It is clear that her love of Israel is what sustains her. Laura ben David writes in a way that can make one believe that if she can do it, so can I.
Love the Book Mar 18, 2007
This book is an excellent interpretation of life as an Oleh in Israel. It is a great "real life" perspective for one to read especially if they are considering making Aliyah. Very funny. I really enjoyed the book and highly reommend it.
