Essential Biblical Truth for Every Christian Feb 9, 2008
Recently, I received "Spiritual Identity: Understanding Who You Are in Christ", and find this book to be an essential message for every Christian regardless of their level of spiritual maturity. In addition to being well written and enjoyable to listen to on audio, "Spiritual Identity" is filled with biblical truths certain to arm every believer for the battle and strengthen their faith.
"Spiritual Identity" is rich with Scripture and biblical insights organized to illustrate many elements of our identity in Christ. Seeing our spiritual identity in proper perspective as presented here, humbles the heart with a deeper reverence for our Heavenly Father and restores the confidence we are to walk in as a child of God.
This book is a valuable tool for use as a "spiritual tune-up" in a season of prayer and spiritual renewal, but is equally helpful to new saints just beginning to know and understand their identity in Christ. Either way "Spiritual Identity" is a great resource for personal renewal, one-on-one discipleship, or group Bible Study.
Though I rarely read any book more than once, this is one resource I will definitely revisit whenever the need to strengthen my stance arises. As believers, we cannot be reminded often enough of our spiritual identity in Jesus Christ, purchased by His sacrifice on our behalf.

Biblically Solid, Destined to Become a Classic May 29, 2007
"Spiritual Identity" is a highly readable, deeply relevant, and biblically solid look -- not on how we see ourselves as Christians, but as how God sees us. This will be surprising to many people who are taught from their earliest years that we are worthless, sinful creatures deserving of nothing but judgment. In contrast, Silver describes how once we take on the mantle of Christ, God sees us as holy, priests, kings, His ambassadors, and much more. In fact, God's view of us is so lofty that it is almost too unbelievable to accept. And yet, as Silver explains in his entertaining, personal style, this is the biblical view of Christ-bought believers designed to motivate us to lives of spiritual power and effectiveness. This book is highly readable without sacrificing spiritual depth or scriptural support. "Spiritual Identity" is a tremendous book that ought to be standard reading for all believers regardless of their level of spiritual maturity, and if it gets the recognition it deserves, it is destined to become a classic.
