Reviews - What do customers think about Love Master A, Volume 1?
Plot may not be what it seems Jun 22, 2008
This review contains no real spoilers but since this is only a 2 book series I will talk about both.
When I picked up this book I assumed that based on the description of the book it would go in a different direction than it did. I assumed the plot would be "about a girl who despite having no luck in love helps others to do so." I was disapointed to know that throughout the 2 books she only hooks up 2 couples. More than anything this series was about the girl and her relationship with the student council. The cute thing about this story is how although she has decided to warn off love she still falls for one of her fellow council members.
Overall I had to give this manga a so-so score. There are plenty of other mangas that you could spend your money on and if you are just looking for a new and cute shoujo manga than maybe this is it. But if you are looking for a manga with a good story and overall plot choose something else.
Loveless Part 1 Mar 7, 2008
Aria Sakurai has had a miserable history with love earning her the nickname "Love Master". She has vowed to lead a normal high school existence by swearing off relationships... however, upon entering Tonohashi High she is immediately voted as the president of the student council. Trouble is that all of the members of the council are beautiful and intriguing to Aria, particularly the Health and Safety Coordinator, Jin Kadomatsu.
Because of her misunderstood reputation Aria is immediately pursued by different girls for love advice. She manages to fumble her way through helping them. It is not until she catches the attention of Sakakiyama, the president of the tenth grade student council, who threatens to disband the lower council, even though he is trying to get somewhere with Aria romantically. What is a loveless girl to do?
This started out blah. I was wondering where it was going for a large chunk of it. The art is not phenomenal, but is better than a lot of newer series. The plotline in the end with Sakakiyama really cemented my attention though. I will check out this series in the future. It seems like it will be an interesting read. The first volume is a little shaky... but I think it will be worth it in the end.
