Item description for Dream Big: How the Second Half of Life Can Be the Better Half of Life by Patricia King...
Overview In a society that worships youth, to reach middle age means the beginning of the end. The Higher End begs the question, "what to do with all this wisdom". Youth may be beautiful, but age brings undying, unfading wisdom a commodity that cannot be purchased, only earned through time. Patricia King shepherds a generation armed with wisdom, experience, knowledge and "funds" out of their premature rocking chairs into the end time purposes of God. The simple wisdom in this book will reprogram any bent beliefs that life ends at 40 and will propel you into our ultimate destiny.

Reviews - What do customers think about Dream Big?
Exuberant sanguine Feb 20, 2008
Wow. Disappointing. I know there are a lot of folk who enjoy this 'perspective' in Christian circles, but I found it rather superficial. It may sell for conferences, but it seems a bit shallow. I can summarize the book in a few words: Be happy, get with Jesus, read scripture, pray, forgive, dream big dreams, make small steps into big ones, take care of your health (insert all the exercise, herb, detox ideas) and when in doubt make lemonade from lemons. Health and wealth flow if you sow the right stuff. I have found life to be a bit more complex. Yes, there are some good ideas. I did enjoy her section on sowing and reaping. Her enthusiasm is evident throughout. I wonder if anything bad has ever really happened to her, her family or friends? It would not matter to her, because they are all just opportunities to make something good out of. I am finding the second half of life much more complex and deep than the descriptions and prescriptions in this book. I wondered if grief was ever a part of her experience? She may not have time for grief. We can all just expect to live to be old, healthy, die suddenly, while we stay slim, beautiful, fully functioning and such, because we have been so faithful. I would not waste my time reading this unless you want a truly sanguine perspective and no balancing perspective what so ever.

Wow, what a Great book. Life does not end at 40. The second half of our lives can be the best. God has a plan and purpose for our lives. God wants us to live a vibrant, healthy, positive and fruitful life after 40. The best is yet to come.
