Item description for The Pastor's Assignment (Heartsong Presents #641) by Kim O'Brien...

When Laney Varner's pastor assigns his congregation to rid themselves of all regrets, Laney doesn't have to think about it; she knows what her regrets are. In the midst of this, God gives her another person with regrets to help - unfortunately it's her father's opponent in the sheriff's race. Ty Steele wants an escape from the guilt he feels from his brother's death, and running for sheriff seems the perfect distraction. But when his opponent's daughter mysteriously enters his life, he can't help but wonder if it's a setup. Will the pastor's assignment lead to more than letting go of the past? Fall in love with this inspiring love story and our entire collection of Christian romance novels from Heartsong Presents!

More About Kim O'Brien

Register your artisan biography and upload your photo! Kim O'Brien grew up in Bronxville, New York, in an old Victorian house that her mother claimed was haunted in order to keep her and her brothers out of the attic. Her mother's ghost stories served not only that purpose, but also sparked her imagination and love of books and writing. Kim has worked for IBM as an editor and speechwriter, and holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She currently lives in The Woodlands, Texas, with her husband and two daughters - who do not allow her to tell scary stories - and is hard at work on her next novel.

Kim O'Brien was born in 1960.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Pastor's Assignment (Heartsong Presents #641)?

A wonderful written story  Aug 25, 2007
I read this book in one day.. I found it a sweet and interting story with a different twist. Laney is always trying to help others. In doing so she often ends up in some pretty sticky messes. Ty wants nothing more to be left alone in life. He has already been hurt once and he wont let himself fall in love again. No matter how sweet or wonderful he finds Laney. I enjoyed this book very much. It is a different kind of story plot. One that will keep you reading till the very last page. I will be looking for more books by this author.
Kim O'Brien, the author of Legal Weapon ('04) and The Christmas
Key ('06) here tells us a captivating story of adventure,
mystery and love, filled with robust humor and a strong sense
of what matters in life.

Ty Steele is a police detective whose hope and confidence in
life have been undermined by the murder of his brother. Laney
Varner, the owner of a slightly zany pet shop and the daughter of the county sheriff, feels her sense of self worth is constantly, if unintentionally, diminished by her family and

As Ty and Laney, amid a series of humorous detours, carry out
their "pastor's assignment," and try to revive their sense of
personal self-worth, they find support in feelings and ideas
that are increasingly unfamiliar in our society and fiction.

Well done, Ms. O'Brien. BRAVA.
