Item description for The Greater Share of Honour by Kim James...
Seven men - three British, three French and one Senegalese - born hundreds of miles apart, separated by nationality, race, religion and class... This story describes their early lives, their loves, hopes and despair, and their optimism in the face of the greatest danger and the coming together of their fates. These were ordinary men, at the same time extraordinary in their stubbornness and ability to gain the trust and affection of their friends, families and neighbours... and the respect of their enemies. Follow their transition from bored labouring battalions during the 'Phoney War' to fighting men in the last desperate battle before the defeat of France. This fictional account breathes life into a long-forgotten yet heroic incident at a time of great turmoil.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Greater Share of Honour?
The Greater Share of Honour Nov 26, 2007
Every once in a while you find a book that stands out from all the others. The Greater Share of Honour is such a book. It's a story that tells you about every one involved from start to finish. Their back grounds and how they came together the way they did. How they stayed in a war zone to fight the enemy for no other reason than their love of freedom and their fellow human kind. How fate played her part with her little twists and turns that create the situations that are just susposed to happen. This book held my attention till the very last page and when I closed it's cover I felt truly satisfied; with a lingering feeling of admiration and gratitude for these very brave men and the author who had moved my soul with this story. A well written book, whose author has obviously done his research very carefully.
