How Find and Develop God's Purpose for Your Life May 27, 2008
Pastor Kent Reynolds offers the reader help in finding answers to two pressing questions being asked by many today, "How can I know the will of God for my life?" and, "How can I hear from God? Reynolds provides some specific biblical principles that will shape the way we think, strategies to develop spiritual discernment, and the ability to look at things from God's perspective.
Kent addresses the Holy Spirit's work in revealing and releasing the will of God in and through us, what it means to be led by the spirit and how this takes place in the life of the believer. He discusses priorities we can choose and practices we should adapt in living the life of faith. He warns of pitfalls, fallacies, and obstacles we can expect to face as we encounter God in a new relationship of worship and intimacy.
I particularly appreciated the natural progression of the material. The summary subject headers within the chapters were helpful and in making the material that followed evident. Kent writes with clarity, is logical, well balanced, and thought provoking. Although doctrinal in concept, the material is written in layman's language.
"The Will of God" is a book for a new believers as well as for more mature Christians. The material can help anyone solidify their faith and move on to experiencing a new understanding of the fullness and power of the Christian life. I found the reading to be relevant, and valuable.

It is the duty of every Christian to know the will of the Father. In his book, The Will of God, Kent Reynolds makes it clear to us that it cannot be discovered using a simple multi-step magical formula, but neither is it a complex cosmic mystery that only a privileged few can ascertain.
By continually directing us back to the Scriptures, Pastor Reynolds helps us identify the foundational basics that are essential. Through our understanding of the nature of our Father, His character, what His Word says about who He is and who we are, we will come to understand the intimacy He longs to establish with each of us. As we cultivate that relationship with Him, our ability to greater discern what is and what is not His will for us, will follow.
