Item description for Light in the Darkness: Studies in the Gospel of John (Kent Collection) by Homer A. Kent, JR....
Overview Light in the Darkness: Studies in the Gospel of John by Homer A. Kent, Jr. This second volume in The Kent Collection (Gospel of Mark was first) is a re-issue of Dr. Kent's 1974 commentary, which has gone through nine printings and has been out of print. This commentary, which includes updated maps, graphs and photos by the author, maintains Dr. Kent's clear explanation of the biblical text, striking a happy balance between the detailed verse-by-verse commentary and the sketchy outline of the Gospel of John.
Publishers Description This volume in The Kent Collection explores John's gospel through three main points: The Public Ministry, The Private Instructions, and The Passion Victory. Filled with numerous references to other authors and sources, this is a great text for studying the Bible in classes, small groups, or personal use. As with all of Dr. Kent's writing, there is a clear reflection of his loyalty to the authority and inerrancy of God's Word.

Reviews - What do customers think about Light In The Darkness: Studies In The Gospel Of Jo?
Excellent Work Dec 28, 2005
I have had the privilage to both sit under Dr Kent as a student and follow pastor. This work is excellent for understanding the meaning of the gospel of john. It is not a "deep" theologically adventage, requiring Greek and Hebrew language skill and hundreds of hours to be able to read. Dr. Kent gives you the essentials and lets the pointy headed ones talk to each other. If your looking to get every possible answer and question discussed. This is not the book for you. But if your looking to under John and how it effects our life with Christ. Please buy this book, you will not go wrong
