Item description for Communication and Conflict Management: In Churches and Christian Organizations by Kenneth O. Gangel & Samuel L. Canine...
Overview Churches thrive on communication; they are stifled by conflict. Renowned Christian educator Kenneth O. Gangel joins his colleague Samuel L. Canine to bring good news to the church - communication skills can be learned and conflict can be managed. The church need no longer hide conflict nor excuse itself for poor communication, but can instead acknowledge where it has problems and seek transformation. The authors offer scriptural strategies for overcoming conflict and for building trust in relationships - even relationships among deacons or between deacons and pastors. Drawing from recent studies in the social sciences, Gangel and Canine show the church how to manage strife and foster dialogue so that the church can flourish.

It Isn't Heaven Yet Jul 17, 2000
Communication and Conflict Management provides a comprehensive look at the dynamics of a unique culture-the Christian organization. While a Christian Church or Organization may be perceived as a "heavenly" place to work, the truth is, it is still earth-bound and dependent upon people with various levels of maturity.
High ideals, goals and expectations complicate the organizational trust if clear communication and team management is lacking. Pastors, administrators, and volunteer coordinators will find Biblical insight addressing workplace relationships and conflict. This book will provide wisdom beyond experience and forewarn the naive.
