Godly Counsel for Going Thru Rejection May 3, 2010
Having gone thru the breaking of an engagement 10 years ago, and several breakups since then, this book is exactly the GODLY counsel every woman needs! Kimberley's transparency and genuineness really spoke to my heart. In fact, this is the type of book I envisioned writing, as I continue to struggle with these types of relationships. This is certainly a MUST-READ, over and over again!
A BOOK FOR HEALING, RECOVERY & REBUILDING A HEALTY YOU Apr 6, 2010
A friend of mines brought this book to me after I experienced the same rejection spoken about in the book. before she brought the book to me i was still recovering. trying not to believe the thoughts that would come to my mind telling me that i wasn't good enough. Rejection will make you feel some crazy things:)..My esteem had never been that low. This book isn't about male bashing; like we would want after being rejected; but it's about recovering and loving yourself. and rediscovering your identity; the person God made you. sometimes we go through things an we give up on ourselves; our dreams an aspiration and she's letting us know that God would never intend that for us. sometimes we move from relationship to relationship after one has failed an never recieve the proper healing. so now that new relationship can't live up to it's fullest potential because hurt and fears are still present. and it's those same hurts an fears that will keep you from trusting an opening up like you should. This is truely a book for healing, recovery and rebuilding a healthy self. well rounded and confident you. She also cover how our upbringing and thing we have gone through if not identified and dealt with can really affect a relationship. This book really helped me; it was a very essential tool in my recovery. i would recommend this book to any women that has been rejected an is finding it hard to left her head up with confidence and open her heart to love again.
a great read even if youre not feeling rejection at the moment Oct 14, 2009
After hearing a radio segment on this book early early one morning while driving, I was immediately intrigued! At the time there really wasn't anything in my life that was giving me feelings of rejection, but I was able to dive into this book and quickly relate to it. Kimberley has such a talent for writing...I felt like she was sitting on the couch with me telling me her story and encouraging me in my own life. Once, I finished I passed it along to many friends and they all enjoyed it as much as me! It is a great book to own and reference from time to time. I recommend it to absolutely anyone at any place in their life!
A must-read Aug 27, 2009
A must-read for anyone who has not just suffered a literal left-at-the-altar experience but those who have gone through disappointment, failure, loss or hopelessness. This little book will help put you back on track.
Easy to read, helpful in some ways Jun 4, 2009
My only criticism of this book is its religious bent - as a non-Christian I found the Bible verses and emphasis on God knowing and planning everything rather tedious, and magical thinking I don't relate to - so for me personally that aspect of the book was unhelpful, although of course it may be helpful to others.
But the author offers practical suggestions for helping avoid heartbreak too, such as: do not pursue a man, let him do that...the right guy will pursue you with no hesitation! Also, don't ignore warning signs that things aren't going well in your relationship, no matter how strong the desire to deny them. If a man postpones the wedding date or is not enthusiastic about getting the marriage license from the courthouse, watch out - you're in for troubled waters ahead. Also, after the breakup, remember the bad things as well as the good - it will help put it all in balance.
