A truly gifted author Feb 19, 2007
KNB just may be my favorite Christian fiction author. I discovered her work maybe two months ago, and I have read three so far. This one, Crossing Jhordan's River, and A Love So Strong (love!!). She truly has a way to make you relate to her characters. What I enjoy is that characters lead her stories...not plot points. It's almost as if you are in the story with the characters.
Given the sensitive issue dealt with, I was very happy. I'm glad KNB did not go Lifetime and beat us down with facts, statistics, or male-bashing.
We're all just one prayer away Dec 21, 2006
I loved this book - Kendra truly has a gift in storytelling making the characters jump off the pages and become so real. I could easily identify with all the characters and enjoyed them throughout the entire novel. What I liked best about the book is that it mirrors life in that we all face challenges everyday but we have to continue to be prayerful and know that God is going to get us through it. The only reason the book did not get 5 stars was because I wanted more!

The book was not a pageturner for me but I like the fact that the characters face up to their wrong doings and asked for forgivness.
An Affirmation of God's Grace...It's Sooooo Sufficient !!! Oct 28, 2006
O.K. it's like 4:45 in the A.M. and I have been reading One Prayer Away since 11:30 P.M., in prepartion for my book club meeting on today. I was totally a slacker when it came to reading this book, but if I could kick myself, I would.
The imagery alone that Norman-Bellamy employs in One Prayer Away was simply fantabulous. I as the reader could pretty much hear the voice of each character speaking as if I was right there with them as the story was unfolding. Kudos Kendra for such an awesome work, God has truly blessed you with a gift that you are certainly walking worthy of.
One Prayer Away represents the story of two people who have been thrown some pretty tough curve balls in life, but by God's grace they both come to the understanding of what agape love and forgiveness is. Virtue has a problem with letting go of the past and Mitch initially has a problem with embracing his past to allow room for his future, but through the intervention of the Holy Spirit and Ms. Dr. Beverly both are able to embrace 2nd chances. As the story unfolds you'll find some surprising little hiccups and spicy additives that provide for a concotion of a great story.
