Item description for Total Forgiveness (Repack) by R. T. Kendall...

Its the most obvious and fundamental teaching of the New Testament, and yet its perhaps the most difficult issue for many. Kendalls bestselling book has been revised and updated to help readers fully embrace this life-changing message.

Publishers Description
"R.T. Kendall has given us a treasure...the hope and possibility of experiencing incredible freedom and peace that can only come when we walk in total forgiveness."" "One of the core messages of the gospel is that of total forgiveness...not only that we can be totally forgiven by God, but also that we must, in turn, totally forgive others. Our culture is bound up in bitterness, resentment, and wallowing in wounds inflicted upon us by others, wounds that we all too easily accept and even cling to This revised and updated best seller lovingly challenges believers to look within and root out those hidden and hardened places where subtle resentments and areas of un-forgiveness have been allowed to remain.

More About R. T. Kendall

R. T. Kendall Dr. R. T. Kendall, renowned pastor and author, spent 25 years as senior minister of the historic Westminster Chapel in London. He has authored numerous bestselling books, conducts conferences all over the world and is a columnist for "Ministry Today". He lives with his wife, Louise, near Nashville, Tennessee.

In RT's own words... Our premise is this. It seems to us that there has been a ‘silent divorce’ in the church, speaking generally, between the Word and the Spirit. When there is a divorce, some children stay with the mother, some stay with the father.

In this divorce, there are those on the ‘word’ side and those on the ‘Spirit’ side. What is the difference?

Take those of us who represent the Word. Our message is this: we must earnestly contend for the faith ‘once delivered unto the saints’ (Jude 3), we need get back to expository preaching, sound doctrine such as justification by faith, the sovereignty of God and the internal testimony of the Spirit as taught by men like Martin Luther, John Calvin and Jonathan Edwards. What is wrong with this emphasis? Nothing. It is exactly right.

Take those whose emphasis has been on the Holy Spirit. What is the message? We need to rediscover the power that was manifested in the Book of Acts, there needs to be a demonstration of signs, wonders and miracles; we need to see the gifts of the Spirit operating in the church – that the world will once again take notice of the church so that people are left without excuse. What is wrong with this emphasis? Nothing. It is exactly right.

We believe that the need of the hour is not one or the other – but both! It is our view that this simultaneous combination will result in spontaneous combustion! And then, but almost certainly only then, will the world be shaken once again by the message of the church.

This was the message I have preached over the years at Westminster Chapel in London. This is what we are endeavoring to preach in America and around the world. This is not all we preach but it is certainly one of the main things we preach alongside the need for total forgiveness and learning to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. We need your prayers. God bless you.

R. T. Kendall currently resides in London.

Reviews - What do customers think about Total Forgiveness (Repack)?

Spiritually Awesome!  Oct 15, 2008
I love this book. It has open my eyes to the things that I thought I understood. Forgiveness is a big part of life and we all need to learn to forgive if we want to be happy and in peace.
amazing book  Sep 29, 2008
My girlfriend suggested that I read this book because I've been having terrible guilt issues. She was SO right. One time through the book, and I was finally able to forgive myself! Second time through the book and I'm working on everyone else now. I can't even begin to express the positive impact it has had on my life. I'm purchasing it for everyone in my life who is feeling guilty about decisions they've made.
Weak writing about Matthew 18:15-17 (Biblical Church Discipline)  Sep 10, 2008
I read John MacArthur's book The Freedom and Power of Forgivness and R.T. Kendall's book Total Forgiveness a week apart from each other. I found the MacArthur book a stronger book, its biblical insights, and the important coverage given to Matthew 18:15-17, Biblical Church Discipline.

Mr. Kendall's book, while sincere and hopeful, doesn't properly articulate Matthew 18:15-17 for dealing with peoples' strongholds of sin. Either Mr. Kendall wasn't taught it, doesn't know how to carry it out, or doesn't know how to carry it out effectively and Biblically. Some of his suggestions about why we shouldn't confront people are contrary to Jesus' express commands that we are required to confront people in their sins (Matt:18:15-17). I found Jay Adams book Handbook of Church Discipline helpful in explaining Matthew 18:15-17, along with John MacArthur's book on Forgiveness, and Ken Sande's book The Peacemaker.
Beautiful and moving  Aug 8, 2008
This is a beautiful book. Kendall does a splendid job in bringing forth the power of forgiveness and reminding us that it is always God's will.

I love the author's writing style so it did not take me long to read. I would recommmend this for every Christian because we all have times in our lives when we feel like holding a grudge or we are tempted to lash back at others who have brought pain and hurt into our lives.

Kendall points out in such a moving way that there is freedom and wholeness in forgiving others.

I also enjoyed the practical dimensions to this book as it made it more applicable. One of the best books I have read on this subject for sure.
Total Forgiveness  Jul 22, 2008
This book should be read by all Christians. It will give each a new insight into a relationship with God.
