Reviews - What do customers think about The Infiltration of Error in the Church: A Study which Identifies and Corrects, Through the Scriptures, Errors that have Crept into Christianity over 2000 Years?
His reach exceedith his grasp Mar 6, 2010
This disappointing book does not live up to the title's claim of being a "study" and instead is an attempt by one who is well intentioned, but whose reach simply exceeds his grasp. This work ignores the huge advances in biblical scholarship that have taken place in the last fifty years. While purportedly resorting to several versions of the holy bible to support his conclusions, he fails to include those such as the New Jerusalem Bible, an ecumenical work of worldwide bible scholars that for the first time in centuries went back to the original texts for their translations and who, unlike the author, resort to historical knowledge outside the bible text to explain and clarify meanings. Too often the author refuses to consider that anything outside of the text of the bible itself could be historically true, as when he infers that there is no evidence that Saint Peter was ever in Rome. It is an armchair, non-academic "study" in the loosest sense of the term.
A real eye-opener about traditional beliefs Aug 12, 2008
For a first time author, this book is a good read and full of Scripture to back up his assertions.
It will make you rethink your previously held beliefs.
