Publishers Description
PENTECOSTAL PIONEERS -Remembered- Here is a story long untold and mostly forgotten, of faith, power and glory. This book commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Pentecostal Movement in Great Britain & Ireland, 1907-2007. Herein is the story of the Men, the Movement, the Message and the Miracles that became known as the Pentecostal Movement. These testimonies are timeless, powerful and stirring but sadly most of these pioneers have long disappeared from the sight and remembrance of the church. This is a very simple attempt to stir up the mind of the church to remember these men and women who so impacted families, cities and nations by a life of consecrated prayer, crowned and sealed with Holy Ghost power. Amongst them you will find pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles. Although all these pioneers were born in Britain & Ireland yet their ministries deeply affected the world. Their influence and power was amazingly greater than their birth, upbringing, number, education or financial resources. These testimonies will deeply inspire another generation to go and do likewise. Keith Malcomson has worked with School of Christ International since 2001 ministering in Ireland, Britain and Europe, seeking to raise up a voice once again to call this Prodigal Continent back to God. He runs and directs European Schools in Ireland. SOC is presently active in over 130 nations of the world. He also travels widely preaching the Word of God and Jesus Christ His Son, with a burden for a real Heaven Sent Revival which he has carried since a child. At his side is his South African wife Candace, who is his constant companion, encourager and helpmate in this work that the Lord has called them to. His website can be found at

Reviews - What do customers think about "Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered"?

A History That Inspires!  Jan 27, 2009
When I began reading "Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered", I expected another interesting and informative history. But to my pleasant surprise, this book went far beyond history alone and stirred me deeply and spiritually. In my 37 years of Pentecostal ministry, I have rarely read anything outside the Bible that has impacted me and motivated me like Keith Malcomson's book.

My wife and I have been crying out to God in prayer for a renewed Pentecost in our day; for a double portion of God's Spirit upon today's Church; for a daily, personal anointing of "fresh oil" of the Holy Spirit. That spiritual thirst was greatly enlarged by these inspiring stories of Christians just like many of us -- believers who in some cases had little formal education, but who went forth full of God's Word and God's Spirit and with Pentecostal power preached Jesus Christ in His fullness.

This book will leave you a changed person! No matter how few years or how many you have been a Christian, "Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered" will challenge you to new levels of prayer, of love for the Lord, of seeking more of Him, and of dedication to the work of God. Read this book at your own risk! You'll never again be content with anything less than 100% of God's plan and of the Holy Spirit's power for your life.
Inspirational and filled with Insight  Dec 13, 2008
Well written, thoroughly researched and a pleasure to read. The inspirational and heart stirring testimonies of some of the great men of God over the past century will inspire those who are hungry for more of God. The warmly written stories take the reader through the times of these men seeking after God, how the Lord dealt with them and led them to a greater a revelation of Himself. The sacrifices, labors and victories wrought for the Kingdom of God are wonderful to read. The dealings of God with their hearts and the growth in ministry will inspire, bless and create a greater desire for the reality of God in the reader's life.

At the end of each testimony the author gives great insight into these lives and testimonies. Many books relate testimonies of God's power and grace, but this book does something even more. The author's insights into the successes and short comings of these different ministries gives us greater understanding of what God desires to do in his Church in these last days. While truthful and candid about mistakes made in these ministries; the author sheds light on the environment in which some of these missteps were made and shines light on how the Church today can avoid making the same mistakes. These insights are written with care and will bless the reader as much as the testimonies themselves.

Lastly, the author deals with the outright departure from truth and the apostacy that is much of what is supposedly "Christian" today. These errors are dealt with in a straight forward and honest approach. Any true and seeking heart will be greatly encouraged as the author deals with the need for the restoration of the Bride to become a Church without spot or wrinkle.

What A Blessing!  Oct 17, 2008
The Great Men of Faith--what are their stories? How did they come to faith in Christ? How did they find a place of Grace in which they were endued with Pentecostal power? What did they do right, and where did they miss God's best? Keith Malcomson has researched and collected the stories of the Early Pentecostal men and women of old, and presents the answers to these questions in his new book, Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered.

The book is divided into three parts. In Part I, Keith begins the journey by explaining the influences of the Keswick Convention, the Welsh Revival, and other forces that preceded the Pentecostal Outpouring of 1900. I know of no other book that draws the connections between these various revivals and the Pentecostal Outpouring in the way that is done in this book.

In Part II, Keith examines the ministers whose lives led up to, or flourished within, the Pentecostal Move. We are told fascinating accounts of the ministries of D.L. Moody, Hudson Taylor, William Booth, and others who seemed to prepare the fallow ground for the new Pentecostal Move to spring up from the dry earth. Then the book gives the accounts of Smith Wigglesworth--of whom volumes have already been written--but Keith writes also of men of equal stature whose inspiring stories have seldom been told before: John and Howard Carter, Stanley Frodsham, the Jeffreys Brothers, James Salter, WFP Burton and other men and women of whom the world was not worthy.

In Part III, Keith then demonstrates how the early Pentecostals recognized and rejected some of the very errors that plague us today in Pentecostal and Charismatic circles. He tells of how a personal prophecy wrecked the ministry of more than one man of God in his prime. He shows how easily it was, even for these remarkable men of God, to get sidetracked or misled by aspects of spiritual life that we deal with today. This helps to bring home to us the lessons we must learn from our forefathers in the Faith if we are ever to reach their stature.

Although this book belongs in the library of every scholar and Bible School, Keith writes in a simple and easy-to-read manner that will bless any saint who sincerely desires to understand the deep things of God and our Pentecostal history. I believe with time "Pentecostal Pioneers Remembered" by Keith Malcomson will be recognized as a classic similar to "Questions and Answers on Spiritual Gifts," by Howard Carter, and "Christ the Healer," by F.F. Bosworth.
