Reviews - What do customers think about Gross-Out Cakes: The Kitty Litter Cake and Other Classics?
not for the very young... Mar 10, 2008
okay, so i actually don't own this book, but was checking it out on here and had a thought. some of the cakes may not be suited for younger children... for example, my son just turned 2. we have 2 cats, and therefor a littler box. would i want to make a cake that looks like one? doubtful, because it could be very confusing. if he can eat the one on the table, why not the one in the bathroom? see what i'm saying? just a thought before you buy...
Disgusting- just what I wanted! Sep 20, 2007
Ohhhh, I ADORE Halloween! For me, Halloween is a tie with Chirstmas! So, this book was a perfect fit for me. My children will never be the same. Neither will their classmates, Bwahahaaaaaa!!!
Fun and totally gross, but 30 recipies for $13? Sep 20, 2007
This was a fun and really neat book, but in all honesty they aren't really recipes. Nearly every one calls for cake box mixes, store bought cookies and prepared frosting. I realize that this book is likely aimed more for parents to make with kids so the aim is to do as little actual work in the kitchen as possible.
However, as a Halloween nut and someone who loves to bake, I was left feeling like all I got were ideas that I would have to research myself to figure out how to make without resorting to prepackaged cake mixes and frosting.
Good book, but it could have been sold as an online PDF of "ideas for cakes" for much less. I was left feeling kind if disappointed.
I enjoy the book Jan 5, 2007
I enjoy the book and give it a 5 star plus!
The service at this site is much less then desirable and will not be ordering from them again. It took well over a month to receive my order and there was no way of tracking it due to their useless website. Plus, there is no way of contacting them to inquire about it - not too good...
Perfectly Gross!!! Sep 30, 2006
Just as the title suggests this book is really gross - and so are the recipes - which makes your whole baking experience perfectly gross!!!
BUT as gross as these desserts may look - they actually taste just yummy - that is once you get over the fact that you are eating something called Doggy Doo Doo Drops, Blood Clot Cake or Toenail Torte with Toe Jam Filling!!!
I think I'll stop there - I'm sure you've got the idea!!! You've got to check this book out - even your kids will be grossed out!!! Now if that isn't a good sign - I don't know what is!?!
