Item description for Culture Makers: A Worldview Approach to Re-engaging the World by Josiah Vencel...
God did not call Christians to sit on the sidelines of society. But that is precisely what has happened for nearly a century as believers have forgotten about their divinely appointed role in the world. Yet history testifies to the remarkable salt-and-light influence of Bible-believing saints who have applied their faith in all areas of life, not just within the walls of a church. Christ came to transform you into an agent of reconciliation ... not just to save souls, but to redeem entire cultures for his glory. If youve ever wondered how to apply your faith consistently, to think about life christianly or to engage the world for Christ, Culture Makers will not let you down. Culture Makers will answer questions such as: Is there a biblical way to see all of life? What is Christianitys role in society? How do my personal beliefs shape culture? How do I respond to unbiblical points of view? How can the biblical worldview revitalize my faith? And so much more. Discover your place in the world. Fulfill your calling. Become a culture maker.

Reviews - What do customers think about Culture Makers: A Worldview Approach to Re-engaging the World?
Culture Makers- encouraging and practical Apr 16, 2008
As a new Christian, I remember sitting in author Josiah Vencel's class on worldviews. I was intrigued by the thought that since now I was a follower of Christ, I was called to think "Christianly" about the way I thought, acted, spoke, and participated in the culture around me. In his new book Culture Makers (Xulon Press), Vencel rallies all believers to actively participate in shaping society toward emulating Christ Jesus.
Many books written from a Christian perspective are spiritually challenging but neglect to give wisdom on applying the ideas to daily life. This is not the case with Culture Makers. Vencel arms the reader with enough information about worldviews to confidently make cultural decisions that will honor Christ.
Reading this book will be time well spent! Apr 13, 2008
Culture Makers is a very enjoyable book. In fact, I loved it! This book is honest, humble, easy to read, yet not lacking in depth and insight. As I read, I felt that the author was talking with me, teaching and guiding me, rather than talking at me. I found Culture Makers to be very thorough and comprehensive. The format made it very easy to read, follow, and retain. I could not stop reading, and I know this is a book I will read again and again.
I have read other books on similar subjects that were very academic and lacking in heart. However as I read Culture Makers, I noticed that my mind was thoroughly engaged and so was my heart and my spirit. I feel equipped, convicted, and exciting to apply the truths I have learned in this book. My eyes have been opened more to the reality of how often I can apply these truths in my daily life. I am now finding myself remembering the words and suggestions made by the author when encountering those whose worldviews are not biblical. Also, my grasp on what having a biblical worldview looks like is more clear after reading this book.
I highly recommend this book. Furthermore, I pray that more and more Christians will read Culture Makers and apply the truths contained within. I know the Lord will use this book to equip Christians to become the Church that He has called us to be...salt and light in a world that needs the love of Jesus! Well done, Josiah Vencel. Well done!

I found this book to be very enlightening and engaging. The author not only helps the reader to think clearly but also shares personal insights that make the conclusions of the book more meaningful. Well thought out and relevant for Christian and non-Christian alike.
