Excellent Handbook for Teachers Jun 23, 2004
Great book! "Lord, What Do I Do With Sammy?" is an excellent resource and valuable handbook for Christian teachers. Ms. Wright has given us a book that is easy to read, with simple, basic concepts that are easy to understand and follow. The material is organized in such a way as to appeal to us teachers who are serious about meeting each student at his or her specific point of need in order to reach them-to really teach them. Coupled with the suggested devotionals, prayers, and scripture references, this book has fueled my desire to seek and follow God's will for me in the most important aspect of the classroom-how to teach all students, "good," "bad," or otherwise. If you've ever felt you needed help in finding a way to reach not just the serious student but the seemingly unreachable student as well, this book is for you.
Excellent resource for teachers! Dec 8, 2003
Wow! What a great resource. There's enough depth to address even the most exasperated teachers. Though so easy to use for beginning teachers, too. It breaks down so many issues of teaching challenging students, into bite-sized pieces.

The auther has been a credentialed teacher with hands-on experience for over 28 years. This book captures a way to partner with the Holy Spirit for those truly challenging students. She offers ways to reach those students such as praying for them and as you do visualize them with a new name. If that student is agitated visualize him/her as serene. She talks about the power of words. From my experience I know that is true. When she uses scripture the whole text is in the book so it is easy to read right then and there. There are overall questions to answer that will help you define where the problems areas are and how to resolve them. This book would be great if you were a home school parent as well as a teacher.
