Item description for You Might Be A Youth Worker If... by Jon Middendorf...
Overview YOU MIGHT BE A YOUTH WORKER IF... So, you think you're a youth worker? Consider the following: have you ever introduced the concept of deodorant to a seventh-grade boy? Does your description of last year's mission trip always start with "Wanna see my scar?" Can you hot-wire a Coke machine? What about the time you started a mosh pit at the Sandi Patty concert? If these sound familiar, you might be right. Join Jon Middendorf and John McPherson on a hilarious journey through the fun and foibles of those who believe working with kids really is a high calling of God. After all, if you have ever considered recycling the toilet paper teens leave in your trees, you might be a YOUTH WORKER!
Publishers Description The perfect gift for youth leaders and staffs, a collection of McPhearson cartoons and their accompanying catch phrases. Reviews - What do customers think about You Might Be A Youth Worker If...?
If you are a youth minister, you CAN relate! Jul 28, 2000
Any one who has been involved in youth ministry or even has been involved with students will be able to laugh out loud at these jokes and illustrations. They are so true that I could relate to nearly every situation. Consider two of my favorites: you might be a youth workewr if you've ever convinced the church treasurer that water balloons and bungee cords are minsitry expenses; If someone says "lock-in" but you hear "purgatory", you might be a youth worker. I guarantee that you will love this book and that it will provide countless hours of humor. It is especially good for those days when you really feel ministry taking a toll on you. Enjoy!
