Item description for Theology After Liberalism: Classical and Contemporary Readings (Blackwell Readings in Modern Theology) by John Webster & George P. Schner...
A collection of texts which articulate or debate with the mode of theology identified by Hans Frei as Type Four in his Types of Christian Theology. This mode of theology is best described as post liberal. This reader, framed by two editorial essays at the beginning and the end, is divided into three sections: first, readings which treat major doctrinal areas within the framework of Frei's Type Four; second, readings which treat issues of methods, norms and sources of theology; and third, readings which are critical of this mode of theology. Bibliographic tools included throughout the book allow the reader to explore issues further in classical and modern texts.
