Reviews - What do customers think about And the Angels Sang?

A synopsis, or two,--as well as a review.  Jul 24, 2007
I am the author of this novel. I am entering synopses of "... and the angels sang" as well as a review.

"Jon Bernier returns to rural Alabama to tidy up family plots in a cemetery. Ruminations of his first love, a concert pianist, are shattered when he discovers her memorial stone. Clandestine international pharmaceutical concerns, coupled with government illegalities, are unexpectedly revealed, offering Jon a possible reprise as he learns that broken links of lives have a chance to be re-connected." - from Livingston Press.

"When I was four years old, my brother John Sims Jeter taught me how to imagine. Today I feel the same wonder and admiration for his ability to transport me to the worlds of south Alabama, of the Berkshires, of the concert halls and apartments of New York City while telling me the fascinating story of the maturation of a Southern boy. Above and beyond the pleasures of a suspenseful and fulfilling narrative, I enjoy the storyteller's voice--more full of tenderness and honesty than any I have heard before in the realms of fiction. John's voice celebrates the aspects of life that are of sustaining value--from baseball to classical music--and its resonant blending of speech and song will linger in the reader's memory long after the last page is turned."
--Sena Jeter Naslund, author of Ahab's Wife, Four Spirits, and Abundance: A Novel of Marie Antoinette "

I have rated my novel at four stars since I feel it to be a valid and satisfying read. It is not great literature, hence no five star accolade. The protagonist works his way through life in the latter half of the 20th century. The first three parts of the story speak to three loves of his life: Music, Poetry, and Nature. Along these journeys we encounter the three women who share these passions. As in life, there are discouragements and disappointments to weigh against great joys. In Part IV, Reprise, serendipity enters in and offers a chance to reconnect links previously thought to be forever broken.
