Reviews - What do customers think about The 7 Churches Not in the Book of Revelation?
The 7 Churches NOT in the Book of Revelation offers a wealth of information Apr 20, 2007
The 7 Churches NOT in the Book of Revelation offers a wealth of information from the author's personal experience. The authors carry out the noble task of encouraging pastors to stop wishing for the perfect church and offer them realistic strategies on how to effectively minister where God has placed them.
Unfortunately, the book does not provide scriptural support. The only biblical references are the mention of biblical characters that fit into each category.
Considering Mims' position at LifeWay Christian Resources, it is surprising that he does not include a recommended reading list.
This book would benefit any pastor that does not have a clear understanding of his church. It provides insight into how to effectively minister in one's present setting. It is also a beneficial resource for someone looking for a church. A pastoral candidate that knows his leadership style and is able to determine the style of churches he is considering is more able to select a church where he can most effectively serve the Lord.
This is the place..... Nov 12, 2001
The author has brought home some excellent observations on local church behavior. This book is a quick and necessary read for anyone questioning their calling to a specific church.
Whatever the flock is looking for in a shepherd, whatever the role, the shepherd needs to communicate to the sheep one message above all others...that they are loved. This is a most excellent and fun to read book. Go for it!
