I loved it!! Dec 26, 2005
If you read any of James Heriot's books you will just love this book. It is one of the most wonderful books I have ever read. It made me laugh until I cried - and it made me cry until I laughed. I liked it so much I bought six copies for my friends!
The book is about the true story of the most unlikely hero you could imagine. John tells of his bungling adventures as a missionary amongst remote tribes in the Philippines, with an amazingly tollerant wife, a wonderfully cynical son and a dughter you just want to take home. Along the way, he stops an epidemic, stares down armed gunmen and leaps from helicopters - always questioning what on earth he is doing there! I loved it!
