Item description for You Have What it Takes: What Every Father Needs to Know (Audio-book) by John Eldredge & Kelly Ryan Dolan...
Wild at Heart helped men to rediscover their masculine hearts--to be the men God designed them to be. Now this small book goes a step further, encouraging fathers to pass this insight on to their children. It is not by accident, contends John Eldredge, that little boys dream of being heroes and little girls dream of being rescued by a prince. It is woven into the very fiber of the sexes. Men struggle with this most pivotal role, and Eldredge's writing is the affirmation and encouragement each man needs.
Eldredge gives fathers a look inside both themselves and their sons and daughters, encouraging them to give their children permission to be who God designed them to be.
Eldredge reminds and encourages men that God has designed into their souls all they need to be wonderful fathers - that they do have what it takes

More About John Eldredge & Kelly Ryan Dolan
John Eldredge is an author (you probably figured that out), a counselor, and teacher. He has written or co-written numerous books including, Wild At Heart an impacting book releasing men to be men in the Kingdom. He is also president of Ransomed Heart, a ministry devoted to helping people discover the heart of God, recover their own heart in his love, and learn to live in his Kingdom. John grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles (which he hated), and spent his boyhood summers on his grandfather’s cattle ranch in eastern Oregon (which he loved). John met Stasi in high school drama class. But their romance did not begin until they each came to faith in Christ, after high school. John earned his undergraduate degree in Theater at Cal Poly, and directed a theater company in Los Angeles for several years before moving to Colorado with Focus on the Family, where he taught at the Focus on the Family Institute.
John earned his master’s degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University, under the direction of Larry Crabb and Dan Allender. He worked as a counselor in private practice before launching Ransomed Heart in 2000. John and Stasi have authored together the book, Love and War: Finding the Marriage You've Dreamed Of, the day to day living that every marriage goes through.
John and Stasi live in Colorado Springs with their three sons Samuel, Blaine and Luke, their golden retriever-Oban, and two horses-Whistle and Kokolo. While all of this is factually true, it somehow misses describing an actual person. He loves the outdoors passionately, and all beauty, Shakespeare, bow hunting, a good cigar, anything having to do with adventure, poetry, March Madness, working in the shop, fly fishing, classic rock, the Tetons, fish tacos, George MacDonald, green tea, buffalo steaks, dark chocolate, wild and open places, horses running, and too much more to name. He also uses the expression “far out” way too much.

Reviews - What do customers think about You Have What it Takes: What Every Father Needs to Know (Audio-book)?
short but good Jun 19, 2008
I skim read through the entire book in about 5 minutes. Good stuff. Just very short.
Great for Father's Day May 5, 2008
Great advice to Fathers. I plan on giving some of these to fathers on Father's Day. The book offers pointed encouragement and guidance for fathers of all ages. It really helps young fathers who are trying to be the best dad that they can be. It is a short book that most men (who may not read alot) are willing to read.
Required reading for Dads Jul 30, 2007
I have read several books dealing with the critical task of Dads raising their children. John Ortberg is a very gifted Christian writer that communicates some tremendous truths in a very small booklet. Don't let the size fool you, this book will convict you and give you some great tools to help you in your Christian walk and efforts in raising godly children.
definately worth it Jul 21, 2007
I purchased this book for my boyfriend who is also my baby's daddy to be. He said that it helped him realize that all it takes is love and affection and hard work to raise a child, and i think that is what he needed to hear. overall, i would definately recommend this book for anyone who needs an extra boost of confidence before the arrival of a loved one.
Book is very small- not what I expected Jul 7, 2007
This book is similar in size to a freebie handout. It was also over priced by this site at $4.99 when the back of the book's UPC label said that the book was priced at $2.99. I contacted this site and they corrected my bill immediately.
My husband really likes John Eldrege books and I think that he will enjoy the book... it was just not what I expected.
