More About John Bunyan
John Bunyan (1628 1688) was born in Elstow, England,
and his life was spared twice in his early years, something he
believed God had done for a special purpose.
John Bunyan was an English Christian writer and preacher who is best known for his allegorical novel The Pilgrim' s Progress, published in 1678. Bunyan' s faith was profoundly influenced by two books owned by his wife: Arthur Dent's Plain Man's Pathway to Heaven and Lewis Bayly's Practice of Piety, and he turned to preaching following the death of his guide and mentor, John Gifford.
In November 1660, when Bunyan arrived to preach in the little town of
Lower Samsell, he was informed that a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Unwilling to denounce his Christian faith and his calling to the ministry, he was imprisoned for twelve years. Among the many writings he published during his imprisonment are The Holy City, Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners, and the most famous, The Pilgrim's Progress.
After his release, he continued to write and publish stirring works that have endured through time. Among these classics are The Holy War, Visions of Heaven and Hell, and Journey to Hell: The Life and Death of Mr. Badman.

Reviews - What do customers think about Pilgrim's Progress In Modern English?
Good Book, POOR printer Nov 29, 2008
This is a classic, "Pilgrim's Progress". However the print, font, type set-up and paper make it difficult to read. After I had ordered the book, this site's pop up "people who order this book, also enjoy..." and there was the edition I was looking for. Too, late to change. Lesson to be learned, be sure you order exactly what you want. I didn't think a particular edition would be a factor. However, this book is hard to get back into, just because it is hard to read the print. If you have any difficulty with sight or focusing, this is not the edition for you. Try any other, I am sure it cannot be any worse.
