Reviews - What do customers think about Why Does God Allow Suffering&Evil (Contender's Bible Study Series)?
A Contemporary Look at an Age Old Question Jul 8, 2008
Dr. John Ankerberg and Dillon Burroughs partner together on another important issue in the Contender Bible Series. The series help provide Christians today with guidelines in preparing to share their faith with others. This new study guide "Why Does God Allow Suffering and Evil?" presents an approach that will help address this question that so frequently comes up among those seeking spiritual counsel as well as questioning skeptics.
The book format encourages the reader to examine the Scriptures to discover and confirm that which they have been taught. The book is an excellent resource for individual use but has also been designed as a small group curriculum. The book gives opportunity to investigate choices, analyze beliefs, and make decisions that will impact lifestyle.
Group dynamics often are often stimulated when there is a balance of seekers, new believers and more mature Christians participating in the study. The suggestions for group leaders in the introduction are practical, helpful, and proven techniques to get the most out of the lessons.
The "why" questions regarding evil and suffering often come up after a major act of violence, a hurricane, personal illness, and other natural disasters. Seven topics are considered in the material with stimulating questions, scripture references, instruction and illustrations that offer insights into where evil and suffering begin, Satan and his existence, heaven and hell, and why good things happen to bad people.
I highly recommend "Why Does God Allow Suffering and Evil?" as another winner in this important, timely, and relevant series of studies.
