Item description for In the Arms of Angels: True Stories of Heavenly Guardians by Joan Wester Anderson...
Overview Extraordinary stories of angelic appearances in the lives of ordinary people abound. Author Joan Wester Anderson brings together some of the most compelling true stories from the past five years in her latest collection, In the Arms of Angels. Whether they center on seemingly mundane events or national tragedies, the stories in this book reveal that angels accompany humans on their daily journeys and influence their lives. In a time when "nearly every institution in which we have placed our trust has faltered and collapsed," these striking stories of heavenly intervention provide a glimmer of hope and a glimpse of eternity. From the harrowing account of a World Trade Center survivor's angelic encounter to the heartrending tale of a little boy who survives a car crash, the stories illustrate how angels are working in the world today. They encourage readers to reflect on the "coincidences" of their lives and see them with new eyes. In the Arms of Angels is simple evidence that, as God promised, angels intervene in human lives to offer guidance, aid, and consolation.

In the Arms of Angels by Joan Wester Anderson Jul 3, 2006
This is an amazing book. It is especially nice to send to people who are going through a tough time. It is helpful to those who are dying as it reminds them of God's great love, calms their spirit and gives them a sense of peace. My children love to gather on our bed and listen to one of the stories. I give it my highest rating. Anything this author has written is worth keeping by my bedside.

At a time when more than 75% of all Americans publicly admit a belief in angels, IN THE ARMS OF ANGELS whets our appetite for angel information as it delivers a feast of wonderful stories about amazing and mysterious angel encounters. From tales of very young children saved from death by watchful guardians to stories about helpful men and women who have warned, protected and reassured those in need... these stories will make you want to laugh, cry, and get goose bumps of amazement. A highly respected journalist reports on angel encounters. Oct 13, 2004
What sets Joan Wester Anderson's book apart from so many others with the word "angel" in their titles is her journalistic discipline. At the heart of each of her "In The Arms Of Angels" narratives is the diligent research and scrupulous fact checking that is Wester-Anderson's literary signature. It's little wonder that the last person to be rescued from the horrors of being buried alive at the World Trade Center on 9/11, chose this New York Times best-selling author to tell her near-death angel story. No one delivers a compelling, credible read on heavenly beings like Joan Wester Anderson. No one.
