Item description for The Monday Morning Church: Out of the Sanctuary and Into the Streets by Jerry Cook...
Overview Fired by the passion to take the message of the gospel beyond the walls of the church, Jerry Cook challenges Christians to reconsider their role in society. He emphasizes that the church on Monday operates in the experience of the non believer where the greatest impact for God can occur. He encourages Christians to consider themselves strategically placed by Jesus Christ to go to the non believer rather than having them come to God. Drawing from the book of Ephesians, he challenges traditional thinking of how ministry occurs and what the church should be while presenting an exciting new paradigm of living for Christ.
Community Description Unless there is a church on Monday, the church on Sunday makes no difference. Drawing from the book of Ephesians, Cook clearly lays out how Christians can be the church on Monday-not just in buildings on Sunday, but 24/7 in the clutter, confusion, and hard work of everyday living.

A Classic Sep 18, 2008
With MMC Jerry takes and extends the thoughts that he revolutionized the Church world with in "Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness". MMC is a book that fleshes out the living realities of how we "be Jesus" in our world. Jerry is one of the great contemporary "thinkers" we have to draw from and with MMC he takes us through the conversations that cause you to sit up and say, "oh, that's good...and so right". I call it a classic because if you have read "Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness" you will discover Jerry once again shaking up the Church with this book. His thoughts on the "Radical Re-Location of God, Embracing Your New Identity" and others will both challenge and delight you. This is a must read for all who are desirous of living an "incarnational" Christian life... like Jesus.

Living your Christianity every day in simple terms Aug 20, 2006
This is an incredible book based on the book of Ephesians. We don't have to make it hard anymore - Christ made it simple. We serve and love and He does the rest. Need to fine tune your daily walk? This is a great read - don't miss it! Our community group is studying it and it is changing the way we view our world and our purpose.
Exactly what's needed Feb 21, 2006
If you liked Jerry's book, "Love, Acceptance & Forgiveness," you will absolutely love this one! It powerfully describes how Christians can bring the love of Christ to the real world, in our existing lives while we're going about the normal routine of our day. It's continuing in Christ's model - not getting people to church, but meeting them in everyday life, not trying to convert them, just loving them in a very natural way that fits with who I am. This book has changed the way I approach my day, and everyone around me. Finally, someone has cut through the religious barriers to what our true mission is and how we can accomplish it in real life.
