Item description for Jesus, the Gift of Love by Jean Vanier...
Overview Now in paperback, here is a luminous retelling of the life of Jesus of Nazareth by one of this century's most revered spiritual writers.
Publishers Description Not since Fulton Sheen's majestic "A Life of Christ" has a writer captured for his time the beauty, the power, and the holiness of Jesus. But more than this, Jean Vanier writes with a go-to-the-heart simplicity that makes the man Jesus come alive in all his humanity, revealing his immense goodness and his bountiful love for everyone he meets. This book is the story of Jesus as it is told in the four Gospels, brought together into one meditation. The author says that, "Together they give a clear portrait of Jesus as he was and as he lived, a clear vision of his message. From his conception to his death and resurrection, we see a man manifestly sent by God to reveal God, to point to a way of universal love, of truth, of justice, and of peace."

Reviews - What do customers think about Jesus, the Gift of Love?
Jesus, the Gift of Love Nov 6, 2006
What an excellent book! How well written, and how insightful. By reviewing how we develop, with all those visible and invisible, subtle and overt, influences what we all encounter as we go through our early years, Vanier helps us understand ourselves, why we think this way and not that way, why we do this and not do that, and why we are frightened by our world as it develops around us. Then he brings Jesus into the picture, and tells how Jesus is so understanding and loving, and how we can finally allow ourselves to let Him be our lover, and our God, so that we can live in His peace.
So good I have ordered five copies as gifts, and i need half a dozen more.
