More About Jamie Buckingham
Jamie Buckingham spent his entire adult life in ministry. He devoted his writing and speaking talents and sacrificed his time to teach and spread the gospel, eventually becoming an internationally renowned author, columnist, and conference speaker. He was a friend to nearly every significant Christian leader in the charismatic movement until his death in 1992 at the age of 59. Jamie was the author of more than 40 books, including Run Baby Run, (with Nicky Cruz), Tramp for the Lord, (with Corrie ten Boom). Shout it from the Housetops (with Pat Robertson) Daughter of Destiny (with Kathryn Kulman), and Mission (chronicling U.S. Senator Bill Nelson's trip into space aboard the space shuttle). Other popular books included Risky Living, Where Eagles Soar, The Nazarene and Summer of Miracles. He was also a regular columnist for Charisma and Christian Life magazine and other publications. Jamie traveled frequently, but his favorite destination was always the land of Israel. He produced several video series and workbooks teaching biblical lessons "on site." He also wrote the book A Way Through the Wilderness, which follows the actual footsteps of Moses as he led the children of Israel through the Sinai Desert. While Jamie's ministry reached around the world, his true love was always the local church he pastored for nearly twenty-five years, the Tabernacle Church in Melbourne, Florida. Jamie founded the Tabernacle Church at a time when he was seeking a deeper relationship with Christ-a search that quickly led him to a fuller understanding of what it means to be truly filled with the Holy Spirit. (Not coincidentally, this was the same time his writing career began to take off.) The church started as a small group of several families and some friends, but it soon outgrew its original facilities. In a few short years, the "Tab," as it was affectionately known, overflowed on Sunday mornings and evenings, as people traveled from all over the country to listen to Jamie and see what the Holy Spirit was doing in the sleepy beach town of Melbourne. To Jamie, church was all about relationships. His teaching struck a balance between bringing God's Word to new believers and feeding the sheep who already made up the body of Christ. He had a special gift for weaving stories about everyday situations into life-changing lessons about the love, mercy, and power of God.

A Top Notch Instructional Aid to Bible Study Jul 6, 1999
An impressive 103 page instructional aid that is designed to be used with a ten part video series that is available from the publisher for a nominal cost. The workbook is divided into an introduction to Spiritual Warfare and ten lessons that explain and discuss the Full Armor of God as shown in Ephesians 6. It is extremely well organized and well written, and takes an interdenominational track that is acceptable to all True Christian beliefs. The author requires students (each with a personal workbook) to read numerous Scriptural verses and then answer questions on them, including true/false and essay questions. The workbook could possibly be used without the video series (ten, 12 minute videos; one for each lesson) but I would recommend them as a strong enhancement to the class study and homework. The lesson series lends itself to one lesson/session per week with student home study between sessions. A completion certificate can be earned by students. I am truly impressed with this workbook and strongly recommend it for bible study instruction. The author also has four other workbook series available from the publisher, Paraclete.
